Up for sale is a monumental limited edition lithograph by Robert Rauschenberg from his 1968 triptych titled “Autobiography, 1968”. From the unnumbered edition of 2000, this outstanding large format offset lithograph measures an impressive 66.25 x 49 inches. This work shows a childhood photo of him and his parents in a canoe while text surrounds telling details from his life. What separates this from other Autobiography examples is the fact this this work is signed low right “RR 68” in pencil. This was an unsigned edition with very few bearing his initials such as this. The condition also is quite excellent compared to the majority and when considering the medium and its size. The sheet shows wrinkling, minimal creases and handling but is excellent. Currently housed in a period frame, this work is only able to be shipped if removed from the frame and rolled. You will have to arrange pick up by your preferred shipper at your own cost to have it transported framed.
