This original Luigi Kasimir etching is one of his two rarest United States images he created while in New Mexico in the 1930's. Entitled "San Jose Mission", this colored etching shows the famous mission with two arching trees and a small group of men lower left. Signed in the lower center margin this work rests in its vintage wood frame measuring a total of 23 x 19 1/2 inches while the plate mark measures12 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches. The condition of the etching is very good with mild toning which is common among these framed etchings of the period and as well as being mounted to its backed board sandwiched between the matting.
