Available now is an absolutely stunning and exceedingly rare original engraving by the famous Serbian Orientalist artist Paul Joanowits. This fine print depicts a couple of aged men instructing a young boy on the practice of sword fighting. A breast feeding mother, presumably the boys, proudly smiles watching her son partake in this activity. Even the sister appears encouraging the boy by mimicking as though she too is having a lesson and two men smoking watch with entertained faces.

This work is an absolute gem and attests to why Joanowits is one of the most valued and enjoyed orientalist artists of all time. The amount of detail is unbelievable along with the hand coloring which is striking with vibrant tones of red, green, yellow etc. The print has all its original hand coloring quite vividly still present indicating it has never been displayed in or subject to harmful uv light. The print is in superb condition with just a minimal amount of toning but absolutely no damage is seen on the print. This has not been examined outside of its frame.

The images provided accurately represent the quality, condition and aesthetic beauty of this fine original Paul Joanowits engraving but if you have any questions please feel free to ask prior to purchasing!
