Luigi Kasimir is an incredibly well known artists and has been prominent in the American art market for over 40 years. He was born in Pettau, Germany in 1881 and died 1962 in Vienna Austria. Luigi had art in his blood as his grandfather was a poet and artist, his dad was also an artist post his military career. Luigi went to the Vienna Academy of Art studying under William Unger who first introduced him to the etching process. He was a pioneer in the process of color etchings because they were all colored by hand after the impression was made leaving a "sloppy" look. Luigi placed the color first on the plate, so when it was impressed it would already have color creating a realistic / rustic aesthetic. This eliminated the post impression hand coloring and offered a more natural clean look. Since then Luigi has become a world renowned artist and his pieces sit in countless museums and galleries around the world. He is famous for his scenes ranging from the Vienna Opera House, to New York's sky scrappers, and even to the western landscapes of Yosemite National Park and New Mexico.

"Milk Maid in Penzing" is a beautiful little European etching featuring a charming scene of a woman walking a pitcher of milk in the lower right and another figure in the window above wearing all red. This etching is executed on a heavy cream wove paper and signed by Luigi Kasimir in pencil low center. This is not an etching printed and signed after his death, an estate etching, signed by his wife or son Robert. The condition is good with expected mild toning of the print from being framed in its original gold wood frame and matting. This is an overall charming print by Kasimir worth to be added to anyones home or collection.
