Up for sale is a fabulous original published illustration by the talented Science Fiction artist Vincent Di Fate from 1984. Published in the March 1985 edition of Science Fiction Analog magazine, this painting was for Charles Sheffield’s Between the Strokes of Night. Depicting an attractive female figure in a futuristic suit; she stares out into dark space towards a large round “Death Star” like planet. A small space ship is seen speeding to the right over a planet seen low right. The work is signed by the artist in the low center “V. DiFate” and dated 1984. Executed in ink an artist scratchboard measuring 10 1/2 x 14 inches this work does have a partially faded grey matting measuring 15 x 18 3/4 inches. The overall quality of this rare illustration is outstanding from its sense of depth and level of detail. The original magazine which this work was published in is also included.
