Up for sale is an outstanding original oil painting by the talented 1950's U.S. Army illustrator Philip Colprit. This rare oil painting depicts a fine desert landscape showcasing the Pershing Weapon System with the missile standing tall. This stunning work is executed in a hyper realist style showing the grouping of military vehicles and soldiers looking more like a photograph than painting. This lovely SouthWest desert landscape shows desert vegetation in the foreground, rolling mountains in the distance and red head birds flying overhead in the blue sky.

This is more than an impressive painting from Colprit considering its overall quality and great size with the painting measuring 29.5 x 40 inches (masonite) while its original wood frame measures 31.75 x 42.25 inches. Signed in the low left corner this painting is executed in oil on masonite and dates to the mid 20th century. Philip Colprit paintings are so incredibly scarce that this is the only example I have been able to locate with no other works that have been publicly sold. The condition is fine showing just minimal/expected surface dirt and grime really only noticeable in the blue sky. The images provided accurately represent the quality, condition and aesthetic beauty of this Phil Colprit oil painting but if you have any questions please feel free to ask prior to purchasing!
