Up for sale is a fantastic original watercolor on Arches paper by the talented American artist Horace Talmage Day. Depicting the beautiful New Palisade Cliffs of Eggleston, Virginia it was a favorite subject matter of his and this is a rather nice example! Signed in the lower right corner “Horace Day” and dated 1948 painted the year following his one year stay at the Kansas City Art Institute. The quality and composition is excellent with a great use of color as well of which I particularly like the blue flowers in the center tree branches. The watercolor measures 21 x 14 inches and rests in its original mid century wood frame with white accent in each of its four corners. The condition of the watercolor shows some waviness and moderate toning and has not been examined outside its frame. The images provided accurately represent the quality, condition and aesthetic beauty of this fine American watercolor but if you have any questions please feel free to ask prior to purchasing! Rarely do works of such wonderful quality and composition surface making this an excellent addition to ones collection!
