Up for sale is a fabulous old master oil painting after Carlo Dolci’s 1674 self-portrait which resides in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. This work is executed in oil on board and shows the artist in casual attire with a black hat wearing glasses intently working on a painting. His hand can be seen holding a long thin brush while more sit just below creating a rather nice image of the artist at work. His 1674 portrait showed him in a formal black silk coat and cotton collar while he held a self-portrait in his hand which was this image, please see the original. Housed in a relatively new gold wood frame mounted to a gold-tone velvet this work is ready to be hung and enjoyed. The condition while excellent the work does show some craquelure/surface imperfection as seen in the images provided.
