Born in 1932 Margarita has lived an incredible life making a significant impact over the last 90 years not only as a female painter but also her role working for the Miami Library building an impressive collection of art spanning 7000 original works. Mostly known for her religious subject matter and icon style paintings this rare early abstract example shows a series of red and black ovals executed in oil on wood. Signed in the low left corner “Cano” an original paper label remains verso bearing the artists full name and the original price of $350. Measuring quite large, this painting measures 27.5 x 42 inches while its simple wood frame measures 29.5 x 43.5 inches. The condition of the painting shows some loss mostly present along the right side as well as some surface scratches and blemishes.
