Up for sale is a stunning antique advertising lithograph poster depicting a cubist portrait of the early 20th century French actress Pepa Bonafe. Created by the talented artist Jean Carlu who was one of the most desirable poster printers of his time, the print has remained is outstanding condition. Some original vertical and horizontal creases visible under raking light nicely attesting to its authenticity. This attractive print is signed in the plate low right and has the place of print low right edge. This work has already been conveniently mounted (archival foam core) and matted to museum standards and is ready to be placed into a frame of choice for hanging. The full sheet measures 22 3/4 x 17 3/4 inches while the mount measures 28 5/8 x 20 3/4 inches. This work came from a large and impressive collection of mostly French advertisements from the early 20th century.
