Up for sale is a gorgeous impressionist oil painting by the London artist David Brandon depicting a view of the Sacre Coeur Basilica from the Seine river in Paris, France. Completed in oil on canvas this work is extremely well executed using a palette knife with minimal brushwork giving the work excellent texture and capture of motion. This bustling cityscape/street scene is full of figures walking each side of the bridge as well as seen even riding in a horse-drawn carriage, left foreground. An early car is seen driving across the bridge as a steam engine slowly chugs by and when looking at the dressed figures low left help us date the work to be depicting an early 20th-century view of Paris. A steamboat is also seen on the river as well as two steam shovel cranes. Perfectly capturing a moment in time you can almost hear the sound of the city from the steam-powered vehicles and figures walking the street to the point you expect the motion to continue. The painting is in fine condition free from any damage or repairs but would benefit from a light cleaning. The painting dates to the late 20th century and is a phenomenal work of fine art by the talented English artist, this work comes housed in its original gold wood frame and is ready to be hung and enjoyed. The images provided accurately represent the quality, condition and aesthetic beauty but if you have any questions please feel free to ask prior to purchasing!
